Can’t Make the Field Trip? Here’s How to Help from Home

We understand. Not every who wants to go to DC can make the trip. Personal responsibilities, financial limitations — no matter. You can still help.

You can help those who are going with a monetary donation of any size.

Every little bit is welcome! You can find all the info on how to donate here. Your sponsorship helps pay for round-trip travel (bus, train, or airfare depending on distance), lodging (including inexpensive hotels and group-rate rooms), food, and essentials (including DC Metro transit fares and supplies for sign and so on). The donation hosting portal ensures that 100% of your donation goes to the mission.

You can help with lodging. If you’re near DC and the Maryland/Virginia suburbs and you’re willing to offer a room or even a sleeper sofa to one of our citizen lobbyists, that would help us save resources — and even help us expand our presence. Start that conversation by emailing us and asking for one of our team to give you a text/call. We’ll talk out the details and help you make a difference locally!

You can assist with sitting. If someone you know is headed to DC and you’ve got the right pet-sitting, house-sitting, or even child care experience, you can offer your services.

Find a local protest to join by searching for your local 50501 or Indivisible groups on social media.

Your phone works, too. Keep calling your Reps and Senators! Calls are logged and they’re vastly more effective than emails. Be courteous to the staffer who answers your call and make sure you’re not blasting someone who’s already on our team — many of those working the phones are interns.
